The history of 'Hinomaru'

In the Edo period, It uses as a sign of the shogunate ship, become a symbol of the Japanese shop in the closing days of the Tokugawa shogunate. The Meiji government take over the flag, In 1870 (Meiji 3) Meiji goverment decide a standard of the flag.

The vertical to horizontal ratio is set at 7 : 10, the Rising Sun is red, the Rising Sun is to be placed at the exact center, and the diameter of the Rising Sun is to equal three-fifths of the vertical measurement of the flag.
